This is not a stodgy art museum tour, join us for an experiential visit to one of the world's oldest museums. The Uffizi is home to a priceless collection of Renaissance art and holds some of the world's most important masterpieces, including Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Leonardo da Vinci's Annunciation.

This tour focuses on the museum's top 12 most important works, dating from the 13th to the 17th centuries. With our Historian guides, you will discover the artist's lives through the stories of scandals, rivalries, friendships, and major events that created the greatest art movement in western civilization. Our guides can easily engage the curiosity of children and families alike by stimulating questions and conversation. The excitement of discovering recognizable masterpieces in each room is like walking through the Renaissance as it unfolded.

The U-shaped palazzo that houses the Uffizi gallery was originally designed by the famous 16th-century architect and painter Giorgio Vasari, as government offices for Cosimo I de'Medici, the grand duke of Tuscany. It was Cosimo's son, Francesco I who re-purposed the top floor into a gallery, and it was later opened to the general public as a museum in 1769.

Over the centuries this magnificent collection has remarkably survived two World Wars, bombings and a disastrous flood in 1966 and another in 2007. Today, the museum has over 1.5 million visitors per year, and it's recognized as not only the oldest but "the most famous museum in the world". Make the most of your visit on our tour which skips the ticket line with a dedicated guide who can bring these treasures to life in lively relevant detail.
